Philosophy of the School
MT School of Canada opens its doors to any and all who desire to promote and educate themselves in the field of medical transcription. This will be accomplished by an ongoing commitment on our part to provide the most thorough, up-to-date, and accurate medical transcription training available in the market today. Students can expect quality instruction and support from faculty and staff from the moment they begin the program, through job assistance after graduation.
History of MT School of Canada
MT School of Canada was founded from a successful MT school which first began in 2003. This course of study was first envisioned by Margery Hinman,a certified medical transcriptionist, in 1999 when it became apparent there was a lack of qualified medical transcriptionists in the area. An entrepreneur by heart, Margery envisioned a well-rounded, intense training program as a result of owning her own medical transcription services since 1999 and saw many deficiencies in newly graduated MTs from other schools. Having started in the career of medical transcription in 1981, Margery is a certified instructor with public college teaching experience in the field of medical transcription. In addition, she has taught private students and mentored dozens of others over the years. Her experience, expertise, and vision brought forth the program known today as MT School of Canada.
Enrollment Requirements
You must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible for admission. MT School of Canada reserves the right to evaluate special cases and refuse enrollment when such refusal is in the best interests of the school.
It is the policy of MT School of Canada and its associates to maintain and promote equal employment and educational opportunities without regard to race, color, sex or age, religion, disability, national origin or other non-merit factors. However, overseas students are not allowed enrollment at this time.

Our Founder - An Experienced College MT instructor, Certified Medical Transcriptionist, and Successful Medical Transcription Service Owner and Consultant
MT School of Canada was
founded by Margery Hinman, CMT, an experienced college MT instructor,
who owned several successful U.S. medical transcription services,
and is a published writer. She has done considerable consulting for
medical practices and hospitals and owned one of the largest medical
transcription services in the United States. Margery has been mentoring
private students and other individuals for a number of years. Her
past students and graduates continue to be successfully employed in
the field of medical transcription.
